1/2 Marathon = 2:19:27

Faster than my practice pace, so I'm pretty happy with my time. Just going to sit and relax the rest of the day!

Another Top Note pocket card

I made another Top Note card, this time I put the fold at the top instead of on the side.
Here's what it looks like opened.
I did made a few other cards, but I don't want to post them until after I mail them out and the recipients get them, so they can be surprised.
Tomorrow's the big race! I'll let you know how I did. Have a great weekend!!

Matchbox Messages

This week I've really been into the Matchbox Messages stamp set. Here it is again...
I used the Big Flowers set for this, which I just recently purchased because it's going to be discontinued.
The rest of the week is super busy for me. Today and tomorrow I'm setting up for a fundraising even for a non-profit group that I volunteer for. Then on Saturday I'm running in my first ever 1/2 marathon. This will be my first ever race - I've never been a runner, or an exerciser for that matter! LOL! I'm just hoping to finish and not get trampled... there's 25,000 people registered for the race.

A little thanks

I made this card using some left over paper from the "Best Ever" Scrappin' Kit from Stampin' Up! I'm not sure, but it might be discontinued. I took a class at Kristin's and this was some left over paper.
Hope you're having a great week!

Top Note money holder

While I was making my Top Note box, I also decided to try this money holder that I cased from Inking Idaho. This is another great site for inspiration! You can't see it very good in the picture, but I used my Frost VersaMark to stamp butterflies on the left side of the card - that's what that shiny part is.
This is the inside pocket.
And what it would look like if there were money or a gift card inside.
I'm so happy when I find new ways to use my dies!

Top Note box

Isn't this box so cute!?! I found the tutorial on Dawns Stamping Thoughts. Dawn has so many great projects and video tutorials.
Of course I had to use a Hello Kitty die.
I put puffy tape under the sentiment so it would stand out a little.
Here's what it looks like when you open the box.
Have a great week!

Anticipation

It rained for the first time in about 30 days today. I don't know if we broke or tied a record, but it got really close. Too bad it came for the weekend instead of the middle of the work week - doesn't it always happen that way?!
I can't wait for our tomatoes. It's very exciting for us!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Hello Kitty Tags

I made this tag using the Hello Kitty sizzlit with the rainbow, but instead of the rainbow, I put her peeking over the sentiment. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! I love the cute little butterfly and the scalloped oval punch.
I did the whiskers the easy way and just used my gel pen. I used a glitter pen for the dots in the scallops.
I also made this tag. The sentiment is from the same Stampin' Up! set. I think it's called 'Oval All'.
I think I found a new favorite paring - the Hello Kitty over the oval sentiment!

Bigz Hello Kitty Cards

I made a couple more cards using the Bigz Sizzix dies. They are growing on me again. It's way easier to handle the whiskers, eyes and nose than the teeny tiny sizzlits!
I used my gel pen to outline the "hello" to give it that shiny look. This is another new die that I recently got - I just used the "hello" from the phrase "hello kitty". So easy!
I really like this bee die. I used stickers for the "happy birthday" and lots of glitter glue for the wings.
Happy Wednesday!

Yard work

Yesterday we did yard work (I stopped after the frog spotting). Our lawn is doing great this year, but the down side is that it needs to be mowed almost twice a week! Good thing my husband does that - LOL!
It really does help a garden for it to have sun and a "real" spring instead of the snow we had last year.

Another composition book

I've been showing my co-worker the composition books I've made and she really liked them - she's a huge Hello Kitty fan too - so I decided to make one for her. I'm so glad that I'm using my big Hello Kitty dies. I had only used them a couple of times before this, but I think I'm going to be using them a lot more now.
I also like how the new Sizzlits I got coordinate with the big dies. The little bee and the flowers from my new Sizzlit.
I didn't think my co-worker wanted her name on the cover, so I put a row of flowers instead. I think they turned out really cute.
Hope she likes it!

I hate frogs...

I know that "hate" is a strong word, but I really do think I hate them. I take pictures of them all the time. I keep thinking that if I take pictures of them, maybe I won't hate them so much. But they still pretty much gross me out, and when I'm gardening, they jump out and scare me. So, yeah, I hate frogs.
This is the same frog... he's on the move from the calla lilies to the Japanese Maple.
How does that leg NOT gross you out?!
(click the picture to see it BIGGER)
I was done gardening after finding and taking pictures of the frog.
p.s. Got another box of HK dies from UPS today! Can't wait to use them!

Envelope Card

This is another new Hello Kitty Sizzlit that I recently got. For this card I tried something different and didn't make it open. Its just a 4.25 x 5.5 paper with the envelope on top. I kind of like it better, then you don't have to write as much, especially for a kid's birthday where I never know what to write inside anyway. I used some really old alphabet sticker that I found to spell out "happy birthday". You can't see her very well in these pictures, but I used a gel pen to color over her dress to give it the shiny look.

Happy Monday!

Chloe's notebook

I used the Hello Kitty Ladybug for this composition book. I liked the purple and pink combination from the last book I made, so I used it again for this book.
The little lady bug is from the Sizzlit.
I also added the mini Hello Kitty ladybug on the back. I also stamped flowers using the frosted VersaMark ink. You can see it better on the back, but its also on the front.Instead of cutting out the circle for the black part of her back, I just colored it in using a black gel pen.
Have a great week!

Butterfly for Stella

I made another composition book. I'm really getting in to these - so much more space for embellishments and bling! This one is for a little girl who likes purple and pink. The butterfly Hello Kitty is so big that I haven't really used it for cards, but it's perfect for the notebook. Here's a close-up of Hello Kitty.
And one of the letters.
So glad it's Friday!! Have a great weekend!

Composition Book

I decided that I need to use my big Hello Kitty dies more, so I bought some composition books to decorate. This is my first attempt. I wasn't planning on putting the flowers, but I thought it needed a little something more, but now I think the spacing is kind of off. But not bad for my first one.
Close-up of Hello Kitty.
Close-up of the letters.
Can you tell I'm getting back into my Hello Kitty groove!
