5 Dozen Cupcakes

I made 5 different kinds of cupcakes for my bbq this past weekend. They were the favors for everyone to take home in the cupcake boxes that I decorated in my previous post. Everyone could choose their box and then choose the cupcakes to take home.

I got the recipe for these cupcakes from Ming Makes Cupcakes. I love that site!! These are chocolate cupcakes.
I frosted the chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting (right). The cupcakes on the left are sour cream apricot with mascarpone frosting (one of my favorites!!).
I also made red velvet cupcakes.
Here they are with buttercream frosting.
These are my absolute favorite cupcake: Apple cupcake with caramel frosting. Yum!
These are S'more cupcakes that I've made before using the recipe from Bakerella. DH helped me to roast all the marshmallows that we put on the top. I thought it would give it better color and flavor.
I hope everyone has recovered from the sugar coma!

Cupcake Boxes

I bought some plain white cupcake boxes so I could give cupcakes out as favors. But they were too plain for me, so I decorated them using stamps, buttons and ribbon. Here are my decorated cupcake boxes.
I'll be posting the cupcakes I made to fill these boxes tomorrow. Hope you had a great weekend!

Glutton for punishment

Yes, that is me... glutton for punishment. After I made the HK pops (from bakerella), I didn't want to make the cake pops again. BUT my girlfriend asked me to make the favors for her baby shower and she asked for the cake pops. The whole stick part doesn't really work out for me, so I told her I would do cake pops without the stick.

So I thought I would make one milk and one white chocolate. Here are all my cake balls ready for coating.

The milk chocolate didn't come out very good, and the white seemed plain, so I added blue sprinkles (her shower colors were blue and brown). These were kind of the reject ones.
And here's the work in progress. Decided to go with the white chocolate with blue sprinkles, since the milk didn't come out so good - they were all lumpy. The sprinkles didn't really want to stick to the white chocolate either. You can't tell from the pictures, but there's lot of white spots where the chocolate dried/cooled before I could get the sprinkles on.I made little tags that kind of matched her invitations and used the blue and brown colors. And I found some ribbon that says "It's a boy".
Here they are.. bags of "blue balls"!!!....OMG! Didn't even realize it till after I finished them all that I made "blue balls" for favors! Of course that's the first thing that someone said at the party - "blue balls!"
*sigh* I just don't think I was meant to make these.

Baby Shower Card

This is the card I made for my friend's baby shower. They're not really into "cute" stuff, so this is what I came up with.
Close-up of the card.

Tropical Birthday

I cased this card from the Clean & Simple Stamping blog. I thought it was a really good masculine card that I could make for my Dad's birthday. Plus, it has a tropical feel and he lives in Hawaii, so it's perfect.

I also decorated the inside of the card to match the front.

Happy Birthday Dad! And Happy Father's Day!

Princess Anya Birthday Card

My friend's daughter's birthday is coming up and I found this Princess Anya stamp that I had won last year from Jenny's Blog Candy. So I finally inked her up - I'm not very good with coloring, but I think the card came out pretty good.
Here's a close up of Anya.
I made a money pocket on the side.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Birthday Cupcakes

I made this cupcake gift card holder for my girlfriend's birthday. I used the instructions from Fabulously Artsy that I found via Crazy for Paper Crafting's post. It wasn't as hard as I thought, but my flowers aren't very poofy, so they don't cover up the clip or the gift card like in the instruction video.
I used lots of glitter and glitter glue to add sparkle to the flowers.
Here's a side view.
And what it looks like when you lift the card up.
I also made this card, I tried to make it kind of match the cupcake, so I used the same DSP and flowers.
Here's the inside of the card.
And a close-up.
And here they are side-by-side.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Pink Cupcake Gift Card Holder

I made this for my girlfriend's birthday. This was my first try and I think it came out pretty good. I really liked this project because I'm finally using up a bunch of the flowers, buttons and ribbon that I've had forever.

I used the instructions from Fabulously Artsy that I found via Crazy for Paper Crafting's post.

Stationary Box

Its been a while since I made one of these stationary boxes. I really like them though, they're one of my go-to projects for gifts. You can find the instructions on Addicted to Stamping. I made this for my friend's mom's 70th birthday.
Hope you had a great weekend!
