Vanilla Scented embossing powder

I tested out Stampin’ Up!’s new scented embossing powders.  The powders themselves have super strong smell, but once you heat them, the smell is diffused a lot.  You can still smell them, they just aren’t as overpowering as when it is in the powder form.

For this card  I embossed the ice cream cone using the vanilla scent.

I added a glimmer brad as the cherry on top!  I also added some Dazzling Detail for more sparkles.

Check back later this week for cards I made using the other scented embossing powders.

Love Doily Card

Sorry this post is late, I’ve been so busy being crafty this week that I forgot to post them all!

I made this card using the doily sizzlit.  I like how detailed it is, but you really have to add in extra shims and run it through the big shot a couple of times to make sure it cuts all the way through.  Now that I’ve figured out the right “sandwich” formula, it comes out great!

I stamped En Francais in the background using Pink Pirouette and used the Adorning Accents edgelits die and embossing folder.  I cut out the sentiment using the Labels Framelits die and added some Cherry Cobbler seam binding to help soften the card.

Yoko Birthday

This is Yoko. I used some origami paper as the background and for my color inspiration for coloring up Yoko’s kimono.

Kung Hee Fat Choy!

Happy Year of the Dragon!

As you can tell, I really like this Lion Dancers stamp from Sister Stamps!  I used the Fancy Favor die and fussy cut out the stamp.  I also cut out just a strip of the gold paper to add an accent to the top of the favor bag.

On the back I used some die cuts from Island Scrapbooking that my cousin gave to me, and a new sakura die that I bought from Photo Craft on my last trip home to Hawaii.

I really like how this turned out.  Have a great new year!

Lion Dancers Sister Stamps

I love the Lion Dancer stamp from Sister Stamps.  The dancers are so cute.  I used the new edgelit die for accent.  I think it gives it kind of an Asian feel.

I can’t believe that I’m actually making these cards BEFORE Chinese New Year and will get them out in time!  I’ve been a little behind on my crafting recently.  Thanks for stopping by!

Firecracker Sister Stamps

With Chinese New Year coming up, I made this card using the Firecracker stamp from Sister Stamps.  I found the origami background paper in my stash and thought that it kind of looked like little bursts of fireworks.

DSC00498

Of course I had to add some glitter for some sparkles!

Sister Stamps Miyono Thank You cards

I made some thank you cards using Sister Stamps Miyono.  I thought that the Everyday Enchantment DSP (which will be available during Sale-A-Bration, which starts on January 24th) matched her since it kind of looks like fans.

DSC00398

The paper already comes with a little bit of a distressed look, so I sponged some Crumb Cake around the edges of my image to match.

Sister Stamps Nobu Thank You Cards

I made some thank you cards for my sister, she always has to send out so many for all the gifts that people give to my nephew.  So I used Nobu from Sister Stamps.  I used the same layout but just changed out the Big Top Birthday background paper.

Super simple, but I like how they turned out!

Christmas baked good gifts

I’m still catching up on these pictures that I took from before Christmas!  I made some baked goods to hand out to our co-workers.  Here is the table full of stuff before it was all packed up.

DSC00386

I decorated some plain Kraft bags using some of the stickers from the Christmas Lane Simply Scrappin’ kit.

DSC00388

I also made some tags using the scraps of those sticker.

DSC00387

I wrapped up the goodies using some baker’s twine and a tag.

I love packing my baked goods in pretty packaging, I think it makes them look yummier!

Paper Doily Card

Happy New Year!!

Sneak Peak: The Paper Doily sizzlit will be available in the Occasions mini on Wednesday, and I couldn’t wait to use it. I made a simple card with a brad in the middle of the doily. I embossed the doily with the snow burst embossing folder.
