Cupcake 17

DH doesn't like peanut butter and I love peanut butter. I eat it almost every day. I'm on my own this weekend, so I thought this would be the perfect time to make these Peanut Butter Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting and Chocolate Ganache (Cupcake 17) from Ming Makes Cupcakes. I love that site, I want to try everything on there!

VERY peanut butter-y, you do need the chocolate to break up the flavor a little, but great for the peanut butter lover! Hope you're having a great long weekend!

Hello Kitty Money Holder

I made this card for my cousin's daughter's birthday. I've had this HK embosslit for a long time but haven't used it yet, so I decided to finally break it out.

I added a pocket on the inside for a money holder.

EDI Inclusion Fusion

This past Thursday I was a volunteer at the annual EDI fundraising event, Inclusion Fusion. The event was held at Herban Feast's Sodo Park and I was mostly helping with the decorations. Here are some pictures of the decorations we hung.

The AV people helped us hang these with the high lift.

This was the entryway.

And these pinatas were hung over the silent auction area.

It seemed like the event went really well for EDI and the guests seemed to have had a great time.

DH's Birthday

On Friday, I made some s'mores cupcakes for DH to take to work. I got the recipe from Bakerella. I don't eat marshmallows, but DH said that he and his co-workers loved them!

On Sunday we went to a Mariner's Game. It started out super cold, but before the game started, the sun came out so they opened the roof and we had great weather for the whole game.

DH got a chili dog...

and garlic fries (and a brat, but I forgot to take a picture of that)!

Ichiro hit a double.

And Griffey scored the only run for the Mariners (but he got walked on to base).

It was a little painful, but we still had a great day.

I haven't made a Hello Kitty card for a while, but with so many girl birthdays this month, I just couldn't resist.

Another Butterfly Card

I still love the butterfly embosslit and the embossing folder from SU! I used my gel pen on the flowers and some glitter glue on the butterflies to add more sparkle and shine.

Wild About You - 2 ways

I have a few kids birthdays this month so I used the same Wild About You stamps to make 2 different cards. This first card is for my 3 year old neighbor.

This card is for my friend's son's 1st birthday later this month.

Animal stamps are so great since you can make them for both girls and boys.

Happy Mother's Day!

This is the card I made for my Mom for Mother's Day. I made those flowers that are all over blogland. I embossed the yellow background and embellished it with a clear ink gel pen for added texture. You can really see the texture in the flowers in this picture.

More garden pictures

We've been having really crazy weather this week. One minutes it's super dark and gray with pouring rain mixed with hail, then it clears up and the sun shines through. We even had a thunder and lightning storm at one point.

I ventured out into the yard during one of the sunny, but still cold, breaks. It seems like our rhodies all bloomed overnight.
The anemones are doing pretty good even with all the rain we've been having.

But the petals are taking a beating.

I don't remember what this is, but we planted it because it's supposed to attract butterflies.

And our delphiniums have buds too.

I cased these treat cup frogs from Marlene's blog Hands On. I thought they would be perfect for Boy's Day. I'm a little behind and just got them in the mail, so they'll probably arrive to the kids a little late, but I'm sure they'll forgive me once they get to eat the M&Ms!

Shower Invite Samples

I'm helping my friend with the invitations for her baby shower. She wanted light blue and brown for the colors, but didn't really have an idea for the layout or theme. These are a couple of designs I came up with.

We'll see if she likes either of these, otherwise back to the drawing board! =)
