Busy busy busy

Its been a busy last couple of weeks for me. My husband's birthday was last week. I made him these red velvet cupcakes.
My girlfriend's birthday is today so I baked her this cake. I like the big sprinkle dots. She's having a potluck dinner, so I also made mac salad - its a Hawaii themed potluck - yummy!! She also had her twin babies this past week on Tuesday (the one I made those shower thank yous and favors for)! They were a little early and have to stay in the hospital, but they're doing great!
I guess I was in a good mood because I also made these chocolate covered strawberries for my husband.
We also spent some time in the yard last weekend since the sun has finally decided to appear.
I love freesia, they smell so good!
These are my zinnias. I think they look cute in the different colored pots.
Also, I finally decided to try and get rid of some of my excess supplies from when I had my jewelry business, so I've been uploading stuff to my ETSY shop. So if you're interested, I'm selling findings and loose beads for below what it cost me, just to try to recoup some of my cost. I have a ton more stuff that I haven't uploaded yet, but am slowly working on it. If anyone is interested in brown or green Swarovski pearls, let me know... I have a TON!
So anyway, I haven't really had time for crafting. I find that I do less crafting once the sun comes out, since here in Seattle it's so rare, we really try to take advantage of it while it is here.
Hope you had a great weekend!

FOUR day weekend!

I decided to take today off and extend my long weekend to a four day weekend! Yay! We'll be hanging around town, hopefully get some yard work done. But the weather is supposed to be gorgeous!

This is a card I made for my girlfriend's birthday. I have to pack up her gift and get it shipped off soon!
Here's a close-up so you can see the texture and bling!
Hope you have a fun and sunny weekend!

Foam, part 2

Here's a card I made using the big Sizzix (as apposed to the Sizzlit) and foam. The cuts into the foam are much cleaner.
Now I need to get more colors of foam sheets!
P.S. This is my 100th post! I can't believe it!

Foam!

I have found yet another way to use my Hello Kitty dies... FOAM! This is using the Sizzlit, but the regular size Sizzix die actually works better, it has a cleaner cut. But this size fit better on my card.
You can see how the cuts aren't super clean.
Here's a side view to see the dimension. The Sizzlit also kind of smashes the foam, whereas the bigger Sizzix die keeps it in tact better. I'll post an example of one of those once I finish the card.

But to me, its still super cute!

Black and White Stationary Box

I haven't posted one of these in a while...AND its not Hello Kitty! LOL!
I made this box for my neighbor's birthday. I had some pre-made cards and tags, so it wasn't too bad to fill it up.
I hope she likes it!
My Stampin' Up Rep got the box pattern from here and here.

My garden

I love daisies, these are in the planter box on our front porch. The light was perfect in the morning. We may actually have a sunny day!
Here are the first tomato blossoms... I hope we get a lot of tomatoes!
And our Rhodies are finally starting to bloom. Ours always blooms after the rest in the neighborhood.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hello Kitty Match Box

I made this box using the SU match box die and the Hello Kitty Sizzlit where she's sitting down, but I only used her head.
And look what fits perfectly inside...
THREE of the Ghirardelli squares! Yummy!

Another great idea for favors!

Mini-Me Japanese Hello Kitty

Do you remember this girl's day gift that Aunty Jan sent to me?
Well I made a mini-me version using the Sizzlit!
It took me FOREVER to figure everything out and get the right proportions, even though Aunty Jan gave me a sample so I could see the back! Even with that, I think I have to make a few more adjustments.
I used beads for the hair piece instead of flowers because I don't have any flowers that small, but I think it still looks okay.
But overall, I'm pretty happy with it, and it fits on a regular sized card so I can use it more often.
