A jar of jar tags

I made a set of jar tags using the Perfectly Preserved stamp set.

DSC01200

And what better way to give a give of jar tags than to put them in a jar!  I decorated this jar with some fabric, ribbon and a brad.

One last Christmas card

Here is the last of my Christmas cards.  It is hard to see from the picture, but I layered the snowflake with silver, then red, then gold, then silver again.  I really like this snow flurry die.  It cuts through the glimmer paper really well.

DSC01199

Can you believe that the year is almost over?!  I feel like the last few months have just slipped by in a blur.

BFF Merry and Bright

I used the BFF Sister Stamps to make this Christmas Card.  My cousin has two girls and I had them in mind when I made this card.

I used the Ornament Keepsakes stamps for the cover and on the inside of the card.

Setsuna Card

I dug up my Sister Stamps from last year and made this card using Setsuna.  I thought that the “believe” sentiment was a good match.  Do you believe?  Will Santa be stopping by your house tonight?

One more gift card holder

I guess this was a week of gift card holders for me!

I found the instructions for this super cute gift card holder on the Crafting 4 Fun blog.

I added the baker’s twine so that these could be hung on the tree since these shouldn’t be opened till Christmas.  Here is what they look like from the front.

The top is the back view and the bottom is what the insert looks like.

Snow Festival Gift Card Holder

I am finally getting around to posting some of the projects I’ve been working on.  Granted, I haven’t had a lot of time for crafting recently, but I did make a couple of these gift card holders.

This Snow Festival DSP made it super easy to decorate the card front.  The owls are so cute, I just added some glitter to them.

DSC01185DSC01186

I got the last of my cards mailed out today – finally!  I am still waiting for a few of my gifts to arrive in the mail so I can wrap them up and I’ll be all done.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sister Stamps Release 10 - Horse

I’m super excited to be a part of the Sister Stamps guest design team for their Release 10.  Yesterday I posted my Snake card, so today I have a card using the Horse.

My sister is the year of the horse and to me the most spoiled of us kids (though not sure she would agree - haha), so I thought the sentiment was fitting.

thanksss!

I’m super excited to be part of the guest design team for Sister Stamps Release 10 – the first 2 images of their Chinese Zodiac series.  These stamps will be available on Friday, December 1st.

This snake reminds me of Sir Hiss in the Disney Robin Hood movie.  In the movie, Sir Hiss really emphasized all the “s”, so I decided to do the same on my card.

Be sure to check out the rest of the design team’s posts today and tomorrow for more samples of Release 10.

Mariko Pop-up Card

I know I have been MIA for a super long time.  Things are so busy with the day job that I barely even knew about Hurricane Sandy or the election – not good!!  I am hoping that things will get better in the next week or two as I will be getting more help (yay!).

I was able to make this birthday card for my friend’s daughter, and I even got it to her on time!  This is Mariko from Sister Stamps.  This is what the card looks like when it is “closed” (sorry for the glare from the flash).

DSC01177

And here it is when you pull the tab to “open” the card.  I really like these pop-up cards.  They aren’t too hard to make but they are really fun.  I always add some slits to the slider piece so that I can include some money or a gift card.

Thanks for stopping by (and for sticking with me while I get through this crazy busy time at work)!

No Peeking Tags

Along with Christmas cards, I also started to make some Christmas Tags.  These are made using the Two Tags die and the No Peeking stamp set.  Aren’t those little guys so cute!  When I saw that set, I knew I had to get it!  They are the perfect size for tags and they come with those sentiments as well.

DSC01176

The one kind of bad thing is that you have to hand cut them out.  And I cut out all the red parts separately, so it was almost like cutting them out one and a half times per tag.  So they were a little time consuming.  But so cute!

Perfectly Preserved Apples

I wanted to make a fall-themed card and immediately thought of the apples from the Perfectly Preserved set.  Here in Washington, apples are everywhere right now – you can see them ripening on the trees on the sides of the road – so they always remind me of fall.

DSC01173

I’ve seen the little ribbon “tab” on some cards and wanted to give it a try.  I think it is a nice little touch of texture.

Thanks for visiting!

Serene Silhouettes

I CASE’d this card from a card I saw at a stamp party.  It wasn’t given to me and I didn’t even take a picture of it, so I don’t know who to credit for the original idea.  But I really loved the idea of using the butterfly image from the Serene Silhouettes set and mounting it on the large doily from the Delicate Doilies sizzlits die.  I embossed the background with the Fancy Fan embossing folder, which is one of my favorites.

DSC01172

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes – another favorite!

Happy Christmas

I love the little gingerbread man from the Scentsational Season stamp set.  If I weren’t so lazy, I would have embossed them with the Sugar &  Spice scented embossing powder – but I am lazy and I hate using embossing powder.  It gets everywhere and you can’t clean it up.  But that embossing powder smells super YUMMY!!

This first card is my plain version.

DSC01175

And here is my embellished version – just added some ribbon for the “boy” and “girl”.

DSC01174

I had originally done these cards with the cherry cobbler seam binding wrapping around the front of the entire card and then the bow, but I was running low, so had to improvise.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Glimmer Christmas CASE

I CASE’d this card from Kerry Bunting, her blog is KB Papercraft.  I loved the use of all the different colors of Glimmer paper and the Merry Minis punches.  I added some paper piercing to the sentiment.  Paper piercing is my new favorite thing.  It adds texture and can highlight an area without adding layers or colors.  I need to remember to do it more often.

DSC01171

I am slowly starting to make my Christmas cards for this year.  I have to make so many that I get bored doing just one design, so I have been trying to do a few designs each year.  This one will probably make the cut since it is glittery but still flat (flat = no extra postage required!).

Sweet Baby Miyako

Sorry I have been MIA for a couple of weeks, I’ve been busy with my day job.  Lots going on right now, but I was finally able to find some time for crafting over the weekend.

This card is going out super late to my friends who had a baby almost three (!!) months ago.  They had a girl, so of course I had to use Sister Stamps!  Miyako is becoming one of my favorites, and I obviously love pairing her with this DSP.  I think this is my third card using this combination.

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope to start posting again more regularly again.

Buddies

This is one of the new stamps that Sister Stamps has recently released called Buddies.  I received the washi paper as a gift and thought it would be great for a boy card.  Most of the other papers I have are floral and super girly.  So anyway, I found some buttons that kind of matched the color scheme and tied them with twine.  I did some paper piercing along the edge for more texture.

The boys are so cute playing leap frog!

Bride & Groom

We went to DH’s cousin’s wedding over the weekend.  This is the card that I made for the bride and groom.  I kept it simple and classic – black and white with pearls.

DSC01156

You can’t really see it in the first picture, so I had to play around with my settings to get a picture of the embossing.  I just did some white on white embossing with the Hello, Doily background stamp.

DSC01159

And I added a scalloped envelope to the inside of the card.  Guess I didn’t change the settings back after that last picture – I need to remember to look at the pictures that I take before I give the cards away so I can do re-takes if necessary!DSC01161

Four Seasons Thank You

I used the Four Seasons hostess stamp set for this card. I didn’t intend for this to look so wintery, but it kind of does look like a holiday card. You can’t tell from the picture, but the circle is punched out and the scalloped circle is popped up.

Boooo!

I was trying to make this card but discovered that my oval punch doesn’t want to work.  I thought it was because I was trying to punch 2 layers at once, but even when I was just punching one layer, it got stuck.  Guess it is time to buy a new one – or maybe try one of those techniques on Pinterest on how to fix punches!!

Anyway, back to the card – I embossed the front with the spider web embossing folder and the spiders are from the Googly Ghouls set.

DSC01107

This is what it looks like on the inside.  The Booo is from the Googly Ghouls set and the Happy Halloween is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

DSC01108
And here is a side view of the card.

DSC01109

(Is it just me or do those little extra dots right above the spiders makes it look like they are getting splashed with water rather than a spider web?)

Serene Silhouettes Thank You

Here is another card using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  I made a more rustic looking card with the Woodgrain embossing folder.  I distressed the edges and sponged some Crumb Cake over the card stock.

DSC01099

I really like how this card turned out.

Serene Silhouettes Birthday

I think this is the first time I’ve used the Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  I also used the Delicate Designs embossing folder and added some pearls.

I found this sketch in the current Paper Crafts Magazine.  I’ve said this before, but I really should use sketches more often!

Perfectly Preserved Thanks

I was hesitant to get this Perfectly Preserved stamp set when if first came out since I didn’t think I would use it very much. But after seeing so many cards using this set, I couldn’t resist getting it.

Back to School treats

Tomorrow is back to school for my friend’s kids. She asked me to make some back to school treats for the staff at her kids’ school, so I immediately thought of apples for the teacher and the It’s a Wrap Occasions stamp set. There were four nuggets in each bag. For the tag, the Perfectly Preserved set was perfect, I’m so glad I broke down and bought it!

Heartfelt…

I found this scrap of DSP and thought that it matched perfectly with this stamp from the Layered Labels set.  I added “thanks” on the inside.
DSC01095
I tried to keep the card pretty simple since the pattern on the stamp is filled with frills.

Sunflower Thank You

I’ve seen this layout where you break up the image into multiple panels so I decided to try it out with the Sunflower stamp.  I like how it tuned out and will use this layout more.  It is super easy, but gives so much more interest to the card.

It is starting to show signs of fall here in the pacific northwest, so I’m clinging on to summer through my cards.

Pink Pleasant Poppies

I went to a stamp class last weekend and we used this stamp set.  We made almost this exact card – pink and black color scheme with the Pleasant Poppies stamp set.  To be honest, I only changed the sentiment from a square to ovals and the shade of pink.

DSC01094

I usually shy away from using black because it feels so harsh against most colors, but I really like the contrast on this card.

Birthday Cupcakes

This DSP inspired me to rediscovered my create a cupcake stamp set and matching punch.  I even spritzed the cupcake tops with some Shimmer Smooch for some added sparkle.

I am so glad it is Friday, it has been a long week for me and I am really looking forward to the weekend!

Apothecary Art - With Sympathy

Here is a sympathy card I made using the Apothecary Art stamp set and Loving Thoughts sentiment set.  I used the Labels Collection framelit dies and the Festive Paper-Piercing pack to add some detail.  I also pierced the bottom using the Essentials Paper-Piercing pack and used the Adorning Accents embossing folder.

Miyoko Cupcake Card

I made another card using Miyoko from Sister Stamps.  I used some patterned paper with cupcakes on it to go with Miyoko’s cupcake.  I went with more pink colors since I made this for a little girl.

DSC01069

Since the front was kind of busy as is, I just added the sentiment to the inside of the card, but of course I forgot to take a picture.

ROAR! 2nd Birthday

My friend’s son turned two so I had to use the Dino-roar set.  This set reminds me of him because he has some dinosaur toys that actually  roar and walk and their wings move.

DSC00952

Here is the inside of the card.

DSC00951

I’ve started decorating the inside of some of my cards, and the envelopes too.  It really does add a special touch to the card, I’ll have to try to do this more often.

Wedding Card

We went to my co-worker’s wedding reception last week and here is the card that I made.  I took my inspiration from their invitation.  I used the same colors – silver, dark blue and white, and they had a similar branch with flowers on their invitation too.

DSC00958

DSC00957

I like how this card turned out.  I hope the bride did too – she’s also a crafty girl =)  She had a lot of handmade touches to their decorations and a lot of personalization.  I thought the reception really represented the bride and groom.
