Sweet Pea Card Class

This past Saturday my friends and I went to a card making class at Kristin's. Kristin is my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. There were almost 30 people there - a full house for sure! But we still had lots of fun. We made 2 of each of the cards below.
Here are some close-ups of the cards. (Sorry, a couple of them turned sideways and I don't know why.)
Have a great weekend! Tomorrow is the opening day of our Farmers Market - I hope the Kettle Corn people are there!

More garden pictures

Of course Waste Management decided to go on strike the day before our pick-up day, and after we've done a TON of yard work. At least we just missed one pick-up day, we should be back to our regular schedule and they should be coming tomorrow (fingers crossed).
Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Card

We went down to Oregon yesterday to celebrate my brother's birthday.
It's always so hard for me to make masculine cards, I think this one came out okay.

Twins Birthday Project

I've been helping my girlfriend make the invitations for her twins' first birthday party. She's having the party at a farm/petting zoo, so we came up with this design.
The white rectangle on the left is where she's putting a picture of the twins.
We also made matching thank "ewe" cards... this is the stack while in progress.
Here's the front of the Thank You card.
And here's the inside.
And we made favor boxes for the party.
Lots of favor boxes.
It should be a fun party!

Happy Earth Day!

In honor of Earth Day, I decided to post some pictures of my tulips. We have 2 pots on our porch and every fall I plant tulips in them for the spring.

Once the tulips gone, we plant some spring flowers in the pots. Then in fall we start all over again.

Happy Administrative Professsional's Day!

I made these little gift cards for some of the Administrative Professionals that I work with. The candy box was tied with a purple ribbon with a pink flower charm. So I made these to match.
The cards fit into the SU! scalloped envelop.
These are some other tags I made to have on hand for emergencies.
Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Coupon Envelope

I made this coupon envelope for my boss. She's leaving our team and moving on to another role.

Here's the back.

I used velcro for the closure.

A co-worker and I came up with some funny, inside joke type of coupons. I printed them out on white paper and attached them to these inserts. We also came up with a 2-word "title" that I punched and attached to the circle tabs.
Our boss really liked the coupons and we had a really good laugh reading through them all.

Tulip Festival

We went to the tulip festival up in Mount Vernon this past Saturday. It's tradition, we go every year and we always go to the Roozengaarde farms. We've learned to get there really early, like as soon as they open around 9am. This is a little rough for me to get up that early on the weekend (it's about an hour and a half drive), but so worth it to miss the lines and the traffic. Plus, if we go early then there's time to stop off at the outlet mall on the way home!
This might be my favorite picture. I love how the mountains are behind the silhouette of the children playing.

We never pass up a chance for fresh kettle corn!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Cupcake card and gift card

For this card, I actually bought the gift card first, then got the inspiration to make the card. Here's the gift card I got from Target on the inside of my card.

And here's the cupcake on the outside.
I like that the card and gift card have the same theme. I may have to do that more often!

Butterfly birthday

I made this card for my friend's birthday later this month. (I saw a card similar to this on someone's blog, but now I can't find it.) The colors didn't come out that good in the picture.

I embossed the yellow to give it some texture.

We have a lot of birthdays this month, but I didn't get around to making everyone's cards... I am working on another big craft project, hopefully I can show you some pictures soon. Have a great week!

Spring?

Yesterday morning at 3:30 am we had a pretty big hail storm. It was so loud that even I woke up! At 4:30 pm there was still some evidence of the hail.
I drove through hail and some slushy snow on the way home from work, but you couldn't tell by looking at the sky!
I was able to snap some pictures of my garden. I can't wait for my favorite peony plant to bloom, this one has the best smelling flowers.
We're planning on heading up to the Skagit Valley Tulip festival tomorrow, it should be clear but really cold weather. My tulips on the front porch are coming in nicely.
Hope you have a great weekend!
