I made this card for my friends who are having twins. They're having a girl and a boy. My friend is a Hello Kitty fan, but I thought that the Little Twin Stars are perfect. You can hardly see the pink "princess" stamp in the picture, but it looks better on the card.
ETA: I downloaded this image and the baby shower baby Hello Kitty images from this site. They have lots of super cute images.
I've finally decided on a design for the shower favors. I was going to use the scalloped bag die, but then I wanted people to see the candy since they're kind of cute and go with the theme. Then I was going to use my new matchbox die with a clear slider lid, but the candy wouldn't fit. So I decided to use this again. I made them with both pink and blue top note dies.
I just saw the sneak peak from Cheryl of the new Aloha Hello Kitty Sizzix die and then did a search on ebay and saw all the other beach themed dies... They are SOOOO CUTE! I want them all! I can't buy them all, but I don't know how I'm going to choose.
We went to the Tulip Festival in Mt. Vernon this past Sunday. It was a perfect day. On our way to the fields, we saw this amazing magnolia tree. I wish we had one in our yard, but I think our yard is too small.
We went to a couple of different places and took pictures along the way.
We took over 200 pictures!! It was such a great day! Hope you all had a great weekend too!
I saw the coolest gift card holder on Paper Pleasing Ideas and I just had to make one. I don't know who I'm going to give this to yet, so I left some blank space at the top for a sentiment to add later.
The reason this gift card holder is so cool is that the gift card kind of pops out as you open the card. You have to go see Julie's instructions and pictures to get a better idea of what I'm talking about.
Just pretend that the white paper is a gift card =)
Remember these invitations? I finally made the matching Thank You cards for my girlfriend's baby shower. I hope she likes them! The shower is next week and I still haven't done the favors yet... YIKES! I'm usually not a procrastinator with things like this, but I just can't seem to make a decision. It's not that I don't have ideas, I have tons of ideas. Maybe that's the problem - I get too many great ideas from reading blogs that now I have too many to choose from!
We're back from our trip to Hawaii. We went to Kauai and Oahu. While we were on Kauai, this Hawaiian Monk Seal decided to sunbath on the beach. He was just hanging out all day long, rolling around on the sand.
Some Koi in the resort. Hibiscus
While we were gone, my plants all started to bloom.
I'm unpacking, doing laundry and mentally preparing to go back to work tomorrow. I bought a bunch of new Hello Kitty Sizzlits and got some great ideas while I was home. I can't wait to start crafting! I hope to get back to my regular posting rhythm soon with new things to show you.
I'm on vacation visiting with my family in Hawaii this week. I'll get back to my normal posting schedule when I return home next week. Hope you all had a great Easter weekend!
I made a couple of scalloped bags using my new Sizzixdie. Of course one of them had to have Hello Kitty! The flower was also made using one of the Stampin' Up! dies. I have no idea where I got the center part for the flower, I found it in a drawer of stuff I've had for YEARS!
I inked the edges of the scallop so that it would have a little more definition. I think it needed that extra step.
I came home from work today and found my first tulip opened! This year, I didn't get that many buds, and they're really small, but super huge leaves. I'm not sure if its because the bulbs are going bad or if it was because of the bad/weird weather we've been having. We have 2 pots like this on our front porch. It'll look really good when all of the buds open.
My hyacinths are blooming! I love the smell of hyacinths. We have them out on our back patio and when we open the sliding door, ever so often the wind blows the smell into the house and you get a hint of their fragrance.
I used my new Stampin' Up! embossing plate and embossed the flowers and punched the holes around the flowers. You can't really see it, but I also punched holes on the top and bottom of the card stock, and I also embossed the background card stock using the embossing templates.
Supplies: Paper - Stampin' Up!; Ink - Stampin' Up!, Color Box; Ribbon - from Joanns.
