Daba Easter Tags

I’m getting ready for Easter and made some goodie bags.  I decorated the tags with Daba from Sister Stamps.  Aside from cutting him out, these tags were super easy since I decided to leave him white and didn’t have to color anything.

Here are the assembled goodies.

All done with a week to spare!  Yay!

Miyako Thank You

Since she’s holding a heart, I tend to think of Miyako from Sister Stamps as a Valentine or Anniversary type image, but decided that I would push myself to think outside the box.  So I colored her up in blue and green and came up with a Thank You card.

Mixed Bunch Positive and Negative cards

I’ve been seeing this technique all over the internet, especially using the Blossom punch.  You can’t tell from the picture, but the flower is actually the negative part of the punch.  I popped up the DSP so IRL there is a gap there.

DSC00661

And this is the card I made using the punched out piece of the Blossom.  I also used the Modern Label punch to layer inside the flower.

The tone on tone coloring made it super easy to coordinate these cards.

Another Dinosaur Card

I CASE’d this card from the Stampin’ Success magazine.  I really like this Dinoroar stamp set.  The Well Worn DSP seemed like a good pairing with the dinosaur.

My friend’s son will be turning 2, so I made this card for him.

Have a great weekend!

Hau’oli la Hanau

Hau’oli la Hanau is Happy Birthday in Hawaiian.  These are a couple of things that I picked up from A Place in Time.  I got this plumeria stencil and the sentiment stamp.

DSC00654

I used pastels to add color to the embossed plumerias.  The first picture doesn’t show the pastels very well, so I tried another picture without the flash.  It is pretty dark, but at least you can see the coloring.

DSC00657

I’m not very good with pastels, but I think this came out okay.

Punch Art Hula Girl

The last time I went to Hawaii, I stopped by A Place in Time scrapbook store in Kailua.  I picked up some goodies, but I also saw the cutest hula girl punch art.  Here is my version of the card that I saw.

DSC00653

I didn’t buy any Hawaiian paper, but now I wish I had!

Supplies:

  • 1 3/4” Circle – black hair
  • 1 3/8” Circle – black hair (bangs) and face
  • 1/8” Circle – eyes
  • 1/4” Circle – ears
  • Stampin’ Up! Wide Oval punch – dress and arms (I cut the oval in half for the arms)
  • Hand cut the grass skirt

Masa Easter Wishes

I’m so happy to have some “boy” stamps from Sister Stamps!  I always have such cute images for girls, but hardly for boys.  Well, not any more!  Here is Masa sharing his Easter Egg with a cute little bunny!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Akemi Easter Card

I can’t believe that Easter is just a few weeks away! If you are in the Pacific Northwest (or even Hawaii!!), it hardly feels like spring. Just yesterday we got more snow. But that seems to be the new normal for March – rain, snow, hail and sun all in the same day!

Akemi is part of the newest release from Sister Stamps.  I love that they have her holding Daba (click on over to the Sister Stamps blog for the background on Daba).

I love bunnies, so of course this has been my favorite of all the Sister Stamp releases!  Check back on Friday for my Masa card.

Yoshimi Birthday

This is one of the newer Sister Stamps, Yoshimi.  I love her fans and thought that the background paper helped to echo the fan shape nicely.

DSC00626

I found the scallop circle already cut in my stash of papers and was super happy that Yoshimi fit perfectly inside!  I love it when things fall together so nicely.

Roar!

This is not my usual kind of stamp set to buy, but for some reason I was really drawn to it. I thought the Dinoroar set would be great to use for all of the boys cards I have to make throughout the year.

DSC00637

You can’t tell from the picture, but the pterodactyl is cut out and mounted using dimensionals. I used a blender pen to color in the dinosaurs to give them shading.

Sharing in your Sorrow

This is another card for the stockpile.  I kept it really simple as it is a sympathy card.  I used the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set and the Top Note die.

DSC00644

I’m never quite sure how to make sympathy cards and I wish I didn’t have to make them.

3x3 Thank You cards

I’ve been seeing this technique a lot out in blogland and thought I would try it out. I punched out the butterfly and used the “negative” part of the punch over some DSP. This was a great way to use up some scrap papers and these came together super fast.

I then used all the butterflies to make another card. So easy!

Girl’s Day Mini Explosion Purses

I found the tutorial for these super cute Mini Explosion Purses from Qbees Quest blog.  I thought they would be perfect for Girl’s Day gifts.  I used some retired DSP and some Twitterpated buttons.

DSC00634

Inside each purse I included a Hello Kitty eraser and gum.
