Milk Carton vs Candy Wrapper

It's the battle of the boxes. Here a side-by-side comparison of boxes made using the Milk Carton Die and the Candy Wrapper Die.
The left is the Milk Carton Die, the middle is the Candy Wrapper Die and the right is the Milk Carton Die with a ribbon closure. The Candy Wrapper box is slightly taller than the Milk Carton box.
But the Milk Carton box is larger in circumference.

Since I already have the Candy Wrapper die, I think I'll stick to making those boxes. Which box do you like better?

Candy Wrapper box

Battle of the boxes continues. I made this box using the candy wrapper die. It is basically the same technique as making the modified milk carton die, just using the candy wrapper die.
The candy wrapper die pre-cuts the holes for you to string your ribbon and tie the box closed.

Stay tuned for the side-by-side comparison.

2nd Milk Carton Box

Here is my 2nd box using the Milk Carton die. My first one used a ribbon to close it, for this one, I just pushed the top down within itself to close it.
I kind of like how the top looks, and it so simple with no need for a ribbon.

What do you think - do you like the ribbon closure better or this one?

Hip-Hip-Hooray Meil Lin

Today is my friend’s daughter’s birthday. Mei Lin, with her pinwheel, is so perfect with the Big Top Birthday DSP. And I love the bright colors for a little girl’s birthday card.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but I made a little pocket for some birthday money.

Milk Carton Box

I was debating on getting the milk carton die because I've been seeing this box all over the internet and thought it was so cute. My friend has the die, so she sent me some pre-cut paper so I could try it out. I decided to go with a Christmas theme for this one.
It was a LOT of folding. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but probably not something I would mass produce. I think making the box is easier than making the milk carton itself cause when you make a milk carton, the top has to line up to look nice. But because the ribbon cinches the top closed on the box version, you can't really tell if it doesn't align perfectly.

Anyway, the verdict is still out on if I'll buy this die or not, but it is a really cute box. I've seen a similar box using the candy wrapper die, which I already own, so I might try that pattern out first to see if it has similar results. I'll keep you posted.

Sister Stamps Christmas Tags

Today I have some Christmas tags I made using Sister Stamps. Here is Setsuna with his sack full of gifts.

And Yuki is so happy with her stocking full of goodies.

These stamps are so cute, I had to make some tags out of them. The tags are a little big, but I think on a gift box they will be perfect. Check out the Sister Stamps blog for more information on how to get your own stamps and to see their New Year's release!

Cupcake Birthday card

Another card using Big Top Birthday paper. I just can't get enough of it! I used lots of scallops on this card - it is a tad on the too busy side, but I think it still works.
I love the red glimmer paper for the cherry!

Can you believe it is November already?! Crazy!!

Happy Halloween!

I made a few of these treats for my friend's kids for Halloween. The candy sleeves are so handy!
Here's a close up of the owls. I used the peakaboo frames die and spider web embossing folder.

Happy haunting!
