Whistler, BC - Day 1

We took Friday off and drove up to Whistler BC for the weekend. Neither of us had ever been there before, so it was an adventure. We wanted to check it out before the 2010 Winter Olympics so we would have a reference when we watch it on TV. Plus, neither of us are skiers, so a summer visit seemed much more appealing.
During the summer, they have some hard core bike trails. You can take the ski lifts up the mountain and ride a bike down. Some are easy trails, but some are really crazy with jumps and all.
This is one of the bike runs from the Whistler Gondola as we're heading up the mountain.
At the top of the mountain, at they have this statue. Its one of the Olympic icons. You see them everywhere.
We headed over to the Peak 2 Peak Gondola lift that takes you from Whistler to Blackcomb.
It was pretty amazing.
You can't really tell what its like from the pictures. We were REALLY FAR UP!
After that, we took the ski lift on the Blackcomb side back down to the Village.
We walked over this bridge and Greg had to go down to the water to check the temperature - it was freezing cold water from the glaciers.
Back in the Village you can find these little guys everywhere. They're the mascots of the 2010 Olympics.
Back tomorrow with more pictures.

Christmas Gift Tags

I pulled out some of my Christmas stamps to get a head start on making gift tags. It seems a little weird for me to work on Christmas stuff when its so sunny and nice outside, but I'm always so behind by the time the holidays roll around that I decided to start early.
I was thinking they would also make a nice gift. I used a Sizzix die to cut out this box using the clear plastic.
Happy Wednesday!

New toys

I'm super excited that I got these new Martha Stewart punches. I've been eyeing them since I first saw them. After a little bit of playing around, I figure out the loop punches and made this card. I really like how the loops turned out.
I'm still trying to figure out how to connect the snowflake punches... it seems like I keep messing it up and not sure why. *sigh* I think I'm going to have to watch the Martha Stewart video and hope they explain it to me.

Snow Lake

We went hiking to Snow Lake this past weekend. It was a really great day for a hike, sunny but not too warm. I think it only got up to about 65 degrees. This was my first hike to Snow Lake. It wasn't too bad, 6 miles round trip. We started out at about 10:30 am and got to the lake for lunch. Being from Hawaii, I had to pack us a bento lunch - mochiko chicken and rice!
We had a great day! Hope you have a great week!

Quick Cards

Here are some quick cards that I made. I found this DP at JoAnns and really liked it. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!
I just bought this embossing folder from Cuttle Bug and wanted to try it out, so I made a couple of GCH. Not sure how much I like this one, it seems kind of random to have the flap over the top.

I like this GCH better, I like how the flower stamps coordinate with the embossed flowers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up! cards

Last week Monday I went to Kristin's house to make these cards. The one on the left is using the Circle Circus stamps that I've had my eye on since the new catalog came out. And it also uses the new In Colors. I like the butterfly card too cause the wings pop out.
Kristin gave use these cute favors - it had chocolate in it, but that's LONG GONE! LOL.
I always have so much fun at Kristin's!

Birthday Cards

I had to make some last minute birthday cards for co-workers (cause I totally procrastinated). This first card was made using an embossing template that I bought a few years ago when I was in Hawaii. I used it as a stencil instead of embossing it.
I used glitter pens to color it in.
For the second card, I used the Chinese dolls stamps that I recently bought. I remembered Jenny's post and decided to case her idea to make this simple card. My friend isn't very frilly or flowery, so I tried to use more neutral paper.
I don't have washi paper so I used some origami paper that I found in my scraps. And I used gel pens to color in the girl's clothes.
I hope they liked the cards =).

More Hello Kitty

Here is the complete set of Hello Kitty cards that I've been working on. Took me a while to make, but I think they came out really cute.
And I know I said I was burnt out on Hello Kitty, but I had to make these mini composition books using the scrap paper from the tea party favors. I really like the striped background paper. And these mini books are great for carrying around in your purse for grocery lists and just random notes to remember.

Have a great week!

Last card for the set

Here it is, the last card for my set of Hello Kitty cards that I'm making for a gift. Finally done with all of these. I love Hello Kitty, but I think I'm getting a little burnt out on her.

Have a great weekend!

RAK

My girlfriend from Hawaii sent me this super cool RAK. It all came in this cute Hello Kitty bag.
Inside the bag was another bag and a mini scrapbook that she made.
And inside the bag was all these really cute cards and GC holders. Aren't those Popsicle cards the cutest!
What a great surprise to get in the mail!

Hello Kitty - Just For You

While I was making the favors for Stella's Tea Party, I cut out an extra Hello Kitty to make another card for my set. I'm almost done, just one more to go. I used some scrap paper for the background.
The sentiment is actually raised, but you can't see it very well in this picture.
Have a great Wednesday!

Stella's Brother

Since I've been making all this stuff for Stella, I had to make something for her brother! It was kind of daunting since I don't really make boy stuff. But these came out super cool and I've decided that stickers are my new favorite thing! This composition book was the fastest one I've made - just peel and stick!
And I even made him a matching crayon box too. Pattern is from Kari at The Stampin' Grounds.
I officially make "boy stuff" now =).
