I've been slacking on the blog postings recently (as you can tell!). I got these wonderful blog awards from Jenny at Crazy for Paper Crafting. Thank you so much! And thank you to everyone else who reads my blog and for your awesome comments!

I've been out enjoying the summer before it leaves us. I really have to take advantage of all these sunny days up here in the Pacific Northwest... a big change from living in Hawaii! This week the weather will be in the 90's...that's pretty warm, even for me, but I'm still loving it =)

We went to the Bellevue Arts and Craft fair this weekend. I love going to craft fairs. This year I met Rachel of paper & planes. I've been admiring her work for a while now and its even better in person!

Daisy Notebook

I've been covering composition notebooks with Hello Kitty, but I thought I would try something different. I wanted a notebook that I could use at work, and didn't think that Hello Kitty would be the best option for certain meetings (not everyone I work with is a HK fan - I know, hard to believe, but true). I found this spiral bound notebook on sale at a bookstore and decided to try to cover it. I think it came out pretty good. I put glaze over the sunflower image that I cut out to try and protect it a little. I was also really happy with the way the coloring came out. I layered on yellow, 2 shades of green, orange and brown ColorBox inks.

The background image was stamped using the VersaMark on both the front and back cover.

Best Wishes

My friends just announced that they're expecting in December, so I made this 'best wishes' card for them. This will be their first, so it's very exciting! I actually colored in more of it after I took the picture.

I haven't been doing much crafting recently. My day job's been taking up too much time.

I was very surprised to see my calla lily come back this year. It looks better than when I bought it!

Tomatoes are doing great, can't wait for them to ripen.

Hello Kitty Heart Mini Notebook

I found some mini notebooks to decorate. I think they're like 2.5" x 3.5"?? The Hello Kitty Sizzlit fit perfectly on it. I also decorated the back a little.

Not sure if you can see it, but I put diamond glaze on the heart and a dot on her bow to make it puffy and glossy.

Hello Kitty w/Ice Cream Notebook

I made another Hello Kitty covered notebook. This one is a little smaller than the regular steno books.

I used the Hello Kitty Sizzlit and the Kathy from the decorative strip and the little bunny from one of the Easter Sizzlits. The background paper is from JoAnns, not sure where the other paper is from, I'm trying to use up my scraps!

STP and traffic

My husband participated in the Seattle to Portland (STP) this weekend. He rode his bike from Seattle to Portland in 2 days. Crazy, I know!
He stopped in Chehalis, WA. This is the start of the second day. There was thunder and lightning and rain for the first 2 hours of his ride.

He made it to the finish line in Portland! Whooo Hooo! This was his first year and he trained really hard for it. He felt great at the end.

The real pain started when we were driving home from Portland. The traffic was horrible! I drove the first half, then he took over after a gas stop. These are some pictures I took while we were stuck.

Not sure what these people were doing on the side of the freeway?!?

We saw a lot of cars with bikes - all the other STPers going home too.

It was a really busy weekend. Not to mention that my parents were in town last week too!

Hello Kitty Ladybug Thank You

I made this Thank You card for my cousin, Jenny. She bought a whole bunch of stuff for me. I used the Sizzlit decorative strip for the Hello Kitty and the sentiment from Stampin' Up!

(I hope she got this card already so I don't spoil the surprise!)

I made a bunch of these Thank You cards. They were pretty easy to do assembly line. I like how they came out. The Top Note die is great!

BBQ Favors

These are the favors I made for the BBQ we had on the 3rd. It was a great day for a BBQ, we set up some canopies and had lots of good food! I've made these cookies before, they're a great go-to cookie.
I love my Top Note die, it's so versatile. I used my clear gel pen over parts of the stamped image to give it the glossy look.
