Happy Birthday Miyoko

Miyoko is one of my favorite Sister Stamps.  I used her again on this birthday card.  I also used my new sakura embossing folder that I got from Hanko Designs.

Below are the last 2 of my card designs this year.  I used the Sister Stamps Reindeer and Sleigh stamps.  I made a lot of these cards, so I kept them more simple, just adding in some shimmer snowflakes to frame the images.

Today is the last of the Sister Stamps Zodiac Images – the Rabbit.  Bunnies are my favorite animal, so I am partial to this stamp.  I found this scrap of washi paper and thought it would be the perfect background for my Rabbit.

I only met the real Kiki once when I stayed with my cousin about 10 years ago in Hilo.  (Wow – has it really been that long ago?)  She would follow everyone around and you could hear her nails clicking on the floor as she walked around.  She was so cute!

For some reason, I always think of dogs as boys and cats as girls, so I made this card super girly. Otsu comes with both the ball of yarn and the present so you can switch them out to suit your needs.

Swallowtail cards

I bought this Stampin’ Up! Swallowtail stamp awhile ago and just recently decided to use it for a couple of birthday cards.  I used some glittery watercolor paints to color them in.  I like how the color really pops against the black background.

Sister Stamps - Boar

It is time for Sister Stamps Release #14 which includes 2 more animals from their Zodiac collection – the Boar and the Rat.

Today I am posting my Boar thank you card.  The way the Boar is sitting, I feel like it is a dainty, flirty girl, so the Boar is a “she” to me.  I made the card very girly and pink with flowers.  I found a paper flower that I had already dyed and thought it would be the perfect accent for the Boar to sit on.

Sister Stamps – Release 12, Dog

Below are all of the Zodiac characters from Sister Stamps.  The ones that are colored in are available for purchase.  The others are coming soon. 

I paired the Dog stamp with Nobu.  I feel like the dog is watching Nobu play with his toy.  I colored in Nobu’s shoes orange because my nephew used to have a pair of orange Crocs that he loved.  Even after he outgrew them, he still kept trying to wear them.

Sister Stamps – Release 12, Rooster

Have you seen these great new stamps coming out from Sister Stamps?  I get to introduce to you the two new zodiac stamps for this release.

Today my card is using the Rooster.  I’ve had that barn stamp set forever and never used it.  I almost gave it away, but for some reason I couldn’t part with it.  And it is a good thing I kept it!  It is the perfect background for the Rooster!  I sponged the background and hand drew in the fence.  It is pretty simple, but I like how it turned out.

Fox and Friends Congratulations

Hello!  I know it has been a while since I’ve posted.  I made this card probably about a month ago for a little girl’s birthday.  It kind of looks like a V-day card, but hopefully she still liked it.

Miyako is one of my favorite Sister Stamps girl images.  I have another card to share, so stop by later this week!

Mariko Birthday

Two posts in one week – amazing, I know! 

For this card, I used the same basic layout as my last card but this time I used Sister Stamps Mariko.  I used an embossing folder for the lacy part and colored it using my ink pad.

Miyoko Birthday

I am so behind with everything these days!  I was late in making this card and sending it off, and I am just now getting around to posting it!

I used Sister Stamps Miyoko.  I think she is so cute with her little cupcake.  I added some smooch on to parts of her kimono because I had colored it all the same color and it looked kind of weird cause I used such a dark color – but IRL I don’t think the smooch showed up like it did below.  I think that must be the flash or something.

Sister Stamps–Monkey

Sister Stamps has all these super cute Chinese Zodiac stamps lined up.  The Snake and Horse have already been released and on Friday you can get your very own Sheep and Monkey!

I need some boy cards, and I thought the Monkey would be perfect.  I kept a the colors neutral and used paper piercing to break up the colors a little.  (Can you tell that paper piercing is my new go-to technique?!)  When I think of monkeys I think of little kids who climb on everything, so I perched this Monkey on the top of the card sitting on the top of the sentiment.

Snow Much Fun Thank You

January is almost over and this is my first post of the new year…man, I feel like a slacker! The day job has been super busy for me and I just don’t have enough time in the day to get everything done that I would like. And unfortunately since the day job pays the bills, other things (including crafting) have to be sacrificed. I will be posting even less than before, but I still hope to get some projects on here, so check back periodically.

BUT DON’T GIVE UP ON ME JUST YET… I have a couple of projects lined up for later this week. Here’s a hint:
